Ridiculous Susan Paynter article - "If you're pro-choice, pray for Gregoire"
Just the headline is ridiculous enough. Who are these "pro-choice" people going to pray TO, exactly?? Surely not the God of the Hebrew Bible (the Old Testament, to Christians) who said to Jeremiah, "Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you..." (JER 1:5). Surely not the God of the New Testament who made clear that Jesus was considered the Messiah not from birth, but from His miraculous conception (MAT 1:20-21, LUKE 1:31).
So that rules out Jews and Christians - the two most populous groups of self-identified religious people in the U.S.A. (of course, most people are more relunctant than I am to call Secular Humanism a religion of its own).
Paynter repeatedly refers to Rossi as being "slick". Yet take a look at this sentence:
It's into this atmosphere that Rossi, the self-avowed moderate, stepped, an atmosphere in which the legal right to abortion has been eroded even in this state by shrinking access to safe terminations. As I've pointed out before, these "safe terminations" are hardly safe for the unborn child inside it's mother's womb. This child gets sucked through a tube with a razor blade inside it, or gets shriveled, poisoned, and burned to death by salt, or dismembered limb from limb and eventually getting their skull crushed, and so on. I'd characterize the monsters filling young women's heads with the term "safe termination" as the ones who are slick.
She whines about how President Bush allocated $170 million for abstinence-only sex-ed programs (which works 100% of the time against STDs, "unwanted" pregnancies, etc), yet conveniently leaves out the fact that you and I, the American Taxpayers, contributed over $264 million to Planned Parenthood last year alone (This is a PDF file of their annual report). Planned Parenthood is the largest abortion provider in the United States.
Actually, as I'm re-reading it, she whines about a lot of things, mostly irrelevant. These range from on-air censorship to Ohio license plates - I kid you not.
Most of what she whines about centers on her own fear that Roe v. Wade will someday be overturned. It was a horrible decision that needs to be overturned, but not even that will outlaw abortion in America. No, that would leave it up to the states to decide. Undoubtedly many red states would make abortion illegal, but I don't think any blue states would follow suit. Yes, this would greatly decrease the number of abortions performed, but I can't see how anyone can argue that that is a BAD thing.

Abortion is a symptom of moral decay in society.
Stopping Abortion will not stop the moral decay in society.
Protesting against Abortion will not stop the moral decay in society.
Whining about Abortion will not stop the moral decay in society.
Learning to love people will.
Learn to love and not judge people - this is the biggest lesson Christianity has to learn in this era.
Have you considered that if legal abortion is stopped then there will simply be more illegal abortions like the story you have about the boy beating his girlfriends stomach?
Apposing Evil can often be futile as, for all you know God may have a purpose for Evil - to unveal the hearts of men for who they really are...
