Merry Christmas!! (...am I allowed to say that, Mr. Sims?)
But seriously - Merry Christmas! I hope the holidays found you well and that you did not only get what you wanted, but were able to give what you wanted to those you care about, and perhaps some needy families/people as well.
(BTW- did you see this story, about how the people in the red states give overwhelmingly more to charities?)
This is a perfect time to be reminded of the fact that it doesn't *really* matter who is in the Governor's office. Obviously it matters, but the Governor of this fine state doesn't control my future. God has a plan for my life, and I'm going to be following Him no matter who is in Olympia. Whatever happens, I'll still be serving the same God. The same yesterday, today, and forever.
I was getting a little too upset and obsessed with this whole saga. I still believe that, orchestrated or not, there was MORE than enough voter fraud in this last election that put Gregoire over the top by the third count.
The whole deal has definitely left a nasty taste in my mouth, and if/when there are public rallies to protest the election, call for a new election, etc., I'll be there wearing blaze orange :)
But I'm going to take a bit of a break from this on my blog. I'll still comment now and then, but I'm going to give it a rest for a while. It's probably good for me. Please go to Sound Politics to keep up with the latest. Stefan over there is also going to extraordinary lengths to obtain voter files, compile probabilities, compute various other things, and will soon run queries on voter databases, etc. I applaud the amazing job he has been doing ever since this whole thing started.
Anyway, I'll write back soon, but maybe not about the Governor's race. Happy New Year!!
